Old town – Center of Dubrovnik – Old Town Dubrovnik apartments are a wonderful place to stay if you are interested in being in the middle of the action all of the time. It is filled with small apartments that are located within the ancient walls where no autos are allowed. This is very attractive to visitors who love an active night life and lots of excitement.
Ploce – walking distance to the city center, (Old Town) – Ploce accommodations are very elite and have a beautiful ocean views as well as being only a short walk to the beautiful Banje Beach. Ploce is filled with beautiful holiday rental apartments with breath taking ocean views. There are two five star hotels which are the Hotel Excelsior and Hotel Argentina. Each of these hotels is located right on the water. Ploce is the neighborhood closest to Dubrovnik’s Old Town and is easily accessible by foot.
Pile is just outside of the West Gate of Old Town Dubrovnik. Private accommodations as well as the Hotel Hilton are located only a short five minute walk from the center of the city. Pile has many restaurants as well as disco and night clubs where young people may dance until four or five in the morning. Gruz – The area of Gruz hugs the port area with many properties having views of the ships and yachts, though are situated on the hillside. South facing, this port area is undergoing a huge regeneration with a new cruise ship terminal, more space for the super yachts, enlarged marina and finally a coastal boulevard around the harbour. Approximately a half hour walk to the Old Town from the water’s edge. Daily fresh fruit/veg market and 2 small department stores. Parking is limited around the houses, unless you possess a designated parking space.
Dubrovnik surrounding areas
If you are a visitor that enjoys more peace and quiet and does not mind driving into town, we might suggest Zaton, Orasac, Peljesac to the North or one of the islands that are accessible by ferry such as Kolocep, Lopud, Sipan, Mljet or Korcula.
To the South, there is Mlini, Plat,Cavtat, and Konavle.
Cavtat is actually another small resort area with many restaurants and also has an active night life. It attracts many of the mega yachts that visit the region each summer. It is also only about fifteen minutes from Dubrovnik
